Maybe the woman has her own room, and the men do as well, they just take turns having sexual relations with their wife. * Also, we never discussed whether homosexual marriage is custom or not.
Any more ideas??? :)

I was thinking that maybe we could have the husbands and wives live under separate roves. with the husbands remaining in the household of their mother.
So we would have a matriarchal household. With husbands supplying differing parts of their (fishing, hunting, etc...) to both their mother's house and the house of their wife.
What do you think?

This I found to be very interesting because it talks about how power can not be held by the same group of people for a long period of time because power can become corrupt as people grow old with it.
-Structural Violence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1iR3SUzPJs
This video from YouTube talks about how Hip Hop and the African American community has been affected by the government and how it has created violence for this group of people because of the planning that was done by the government.

The Shish Kabob tribe lives on an island inhabited by natural species and themselves as the only living people on the island. They focus on pastoralism and hunting. they grow many of their own vegetables including sweet potatoes, sugar cane and the potatoes and use the native plants and trees such as bananas, coconut and tobacco. Also they have pig and other small animals in the horticulture society. The Shish Kabobs trade trees or wood for whale meat with the Mekka tribe. The Shish Kabobs also trade coffee for berries with the Rasta tribe who live on a local island. The last tribe the Shish Kabobs trade with are the Awheemos who trade their fur for rice.
The Shish Kabob tribe makes it into round two and think they will make it on their own. However, the strong and powerful country of the Evanves colonize the Shish Kabobs. A representative of the Evanaves moves to the island of the Shish Kabobs in order to watch over them and ensure order under the Evanaves control. This occurrence is quite similar to the European colonization of America in the early 1500’s.
The Shish Kabobs begin packing and shipping to move to other countries the Evanaves control. The Evanaves give the Shish Kabobs cheerios to eat and forced them to package fruit loops for them to trade with other tribes. This is related to the slaves being forced from Africa to the states to work on plantations. The Shish Kabobs, in all the packing and shipping, find natural resources which they hope will help them to gain some control and normalcy back.

Shish Kabob History by Greg Bessler
Round1(1450-1650) • With the abundance of trees we trade with the Mecca tribe for whale meat • We trade with the Rasta tribe coffee for berries. • We trade with the A Wheemo tribe coconut for papaya.
Round 2: Colonization (1650-1800) • We are colonized by the nation of the Evanave. • A representative stays there to watch over us to make sure we are working.
Round 2B: Shish kabob find yellow cards(natural resource) • Under Evanave orders we produce the fruit loops in bags and ship them out. • Shish Kabob find the yellow cards to be used in the future.
Round 3: Freedom:(1800-1950) • Shish population has increased . we realize that there is hard power in the numbers and plan on to overthrow the present government. • Still have the fruit loops.
Round 4: Free trade • Make a agreement with the Evanave for free trade with them. • Trade fruit loops for yarn. • Make necklace fruit loops for trade.
Round 5: Island united (1950-2150) • We are seeking alliance with the Evanues so that they can use their power to help overthrow the governments that now rule the islands to become one. • In return for the Evanues all the islands will trade exclusively with them. • Evanues overthrow the governments on other islands • Merge with Mekka, Rastas, Awheemo and become one island.

I know it's a little bit last minute, but if you want to include the part about us smuggling some of the coco puffs, I found a way to explain in in a positive light. Here's what I have:
One of our people had the idea to keep some of the luxury goods for ourselves to trade with other societies of people. Some of us were for the idea while others of us were hesitant, believing that if we traded secretly, Peek-a-boo would find out and kill us all. Eventually we came to the agreement that we would keep some for ourselves secretly, but only use them in desperate measures. We thought it was only fair since they definitely weren't sharing with us, and besides, in the foraging world we have to watch out for each other and help each other to survive (based upon an egalitarian system that practices reciprocity). It was a way to provide ourselves with some security, since we could not use the land we once inhabited to feed ourselves anymore.

Thanks for posting it Logan. I like the way you wrote it; it sounds nice :)
Here are some grammatical errors I found and will change, just wanted you to know what I changed. 1. In line 2 "through out" should be throughout 2. Line 14 "were now feed by their nation" should be "fed by". Also, you said that the Peekaboo defiled our God. I was just wondering if we should just call it our sacred animal or a sacred spirit, since the God was actually The Great Spirit. thoughts anyone?
Here's the info I have for the 4th and 5th rounds. I noticed you didn't include our smuggling of coco puffs or trading with the shiskabob I think it was in the end for food. Those are probably the most important things, but here are the details I remember, you can use whatever you'd like or not to put in the history. During round 3, we had some debate about whether we should or not, but we decided to smuggle some of the coco puffs. But we agreed not to use them unless we were desperate, so that peekaboo wouldn't find out and kill us all. During round 4, we got a little more hard power, and sick of doing labor, we rebelled and won. Peekaboo was in a bit of shock, but returned shortly after to fight us again with more hard power than they had before. Knowing we couldn't win that time, we surrendered control to them without a fight. After that they didn't stay and left the power circle empty. So we took down the flag again. They came back frustrated and threatened to kill us if we rebelled again. So we continued labor/smuggling, at some point (round4?) we learned that there was only one other culture producing coco puffs, and the shiskabobs(?) were looking for some. At the end of round 5 we decided to disregard the threat and rebel once more. Before they came back we ran to shiskabob and traded cocopuffs for cherios in the last few minutes. Peekaboo had apparently been taken over soon after.

Thanks! I'm actually not an art major. I was in architecture last year as a freshman but three weeks before this school year started I decided to switch to Biology or Nutrition with a minor in Anthropology!! I really enjoy art though and took many art classes in high school...I do a lot with graphic design and drawing/painting. Just as a hobby though!

Ok to everyone who doesnt understand how love isnt a part of our society yet we have marriage! First I am keeping the idea because it is very unique! You dont have to love someone to marry them!! In our culture maybe but in the rainforest thats not the way it works. I want the women to have a role in deciding who they will marry based on someone they might have some intellectual compatibility with. This way they have something in common and wont totally hate eachother necessarily. LOVE ISNT NECESSARY IN THE JUNGLE! NOR IS IT LOGICAL. This is is why I have chosen it. I dont want the same thing that everyone else has had in all of the years before us.
