Giraffle Poster The Giraffles are a culturally diverse people who live their lives to the fullest every day. The Giraffles are the inhabitants of a tropical savannah. The seasons are broken down into a wet season and a dry season. The Giraffles practice hunting/gathering all year long with small-scale horticulture in the wet season. They have abundant resources such as salt, gold, and silver. Water is their most valued resource because of its rarity. Women and Men have equally important roles in the society and their own distinct jobs. They express their religious view through art and other extremely expressive forms. They hold great respect for their sacred animal the Giraffe. They practice great respect in their elders, who form the leadership of the tribe. Through this leadership they strive for unity within the community. The tribe is thought of as one big extended family. Family, along with community is the most important thing in this society.

Giraffle Poster with pictures and "Barrel Model" of Culture by Kirby

GIRAFFLE POSTER PAPER
The Giraffles are wonderful culture thriving in a topical savannah. This poster expresses their distinct identity with a map, pictures, and a “Barrel Model” of their culture. The map shows their location in “our world.” The picture of the giraffe is significant because it represents the Giraffles’ belief in their creation. The other two pictures represent the environment that these people live in. Lastly, the “Barrel Model” of culture shows the superstructure, social structure, infrastructure, and environment of the Giraffles’. The superstructure shows that they value their ancestors, family, animals, and water, that they have high respect for their elders, their value of equality in society, and the importance of the wet and dry seasons. The social structure shows that the Giraffles have a mainly egalitarian society with and uncentralized political system. It also shows that they believe in ambilineal descent, an Iroquois kinship, a nuclear residence, and Monogamy. Next, the infrastructure shows that the Giraffle’s hunt and gather, as well as having horticulture and small scale pastorialism. Finally, it states that the environment is a tropical savannah with a scattered population of 8,000 people. Overall, this poster is a great representation of the Giraffles.

My poster makes a strong and respectable impression of my culture to the rest of “our world” because it clearly shows the most important information that anyone wanting to learn about our culture could understand. I also tried to make it stand out among the other posters with my color choice. The bright yellow letters on the black background will hopefully draw some attention. Another aspect of my poster would be that it is very clean cut and organized to ensure that time was taken in creating this important poster. “Our world” should see us as what I portrayed the Giraffles as on our poster.
