Well, I just got done going over all the pages and seeing how well everything checked out. For the most part everyone did a great job. There were a few things I took issue with but on the whole we did a great job. I think Wesch will enjoy reading what we have come up with and will especially appreciate the effort some of you put into making this site pretty damn awesome. I could go on but suffice to say that though we may be extinguished in the Sim but everyone of you that put in your share of work will carry a few lessons away from our imaginary tribe . Its been a pleasure and I hope to see all of you at the Sim.

I was just curious if we all wanted to agree on something we could do to symbolize our culture to enhance the ease with which we can be identified. It could be anything from armbands to something more cultural accurate like facepaint. Also, I'm going to go ahead and volunteer to dress up most likely with face/body paint if anyone else wants to I would be happy to get together with them ahead of time and set this up. If anyone else has any ideas on our dress, yes I know we don't wear a lot of clothing but everything from tattoos to paintings count as dress, feel free to post them in this thread.

(This will be updated after every other topic is posted. This is just based off of enviroment and subsistence and exchange) Cultures in the tropical rainforest region have very definate roles for their men and woman. Since hunting, gathering, and gardening are all means of life here, those tasks are assigned to either a man or a woman. Women consistently stay back near the home and tend to the gardening, which is usually the more productive means of food. This makes them a very important aspect to the success their family has (each family has their own garden) and they are just as much providers as the men. Therefore, in terms of subsistence they are viewed as very valuable in their family systems as well as in their tribe. This also translates to the way men and women communicate when discussing the exchanges their community will make since both genders play equal roles in gathering the subsistence. |
