Religion and the Supernatural

Chidubamu Abana Anthro 100 Mr. Wesh 04-07-08 The Okosmoskos Religion The Okosmoskos religion is influence by ancient Greece polytheism. This religion believes in many Gods which play a vital role in the domains of rewards and punishment. Okosmoskos laws govern the society’s ethical belief regarding nature. The Okosmoskos religion believes in free love. It is socially acceptable for each couple to practice polygamy. However, within each couple only the males can have an unlimited number of partners. The men will always be superior to the women. If a woman does seek out another husband this is considered a sin by the Church of Okosmoskos and she is sacrificed in order for her sins to be forgiven. The sins that are committed are confessed to the Oracle who demands sheep and goat in order to cleanse the whole town of sin. This ritual is performed every Sunday. This day is spiritual to every individual. It’s the day of rest for the people of the society. The Oracle goes through town making sure that nature is at peace in every household. The religion believes that natural disaster and famine are two major signs that the town needs cleansing. This can cause suffering and confusion to the whole society. The principles of these laws are to install a place of peace and harmony in our society. The Okosmokos people base their religion on worshiping nature and putting the Earth’s energy to good use. In return, their planet takes care of them and their family when they have been purified.
