Poster (Jaden/Alexa)This is a featured page

The poster of Phanat Nikhom expresses our culture's identity in many ways. We used the barrel model to organize our ideas. Under superstructure we expressed our religious beliefs which included the practice of animism, the belief to respect everything and everyone, and that we are a peaceful society that avoids conflict as much as possible. The mask under superstructure represents the art aspect of our culture. Masks are used in special ceremonies and rituals. We also included a picture that sums up our creation story and also a bird of lesser paradise, which is one of the species that holds our reincarnated souls if we live a righteous life. Under social structure, we portrayed a graph of the Hawaiian system which explains are kinship method. Our poster also contains a picture of many wives with their children to illustrate the use of polygyny in our culture. We included that our political system is uncentralized, and we don't practice law, but we emphasize fixing relationships within the culture. We also trace our lineage bilaterally and we live in an egalitarian society. The Popsicle stick house represents the clay houses that we live in. Under infrastructure, we talk about our horticulture and hunting/gathering methods. We also discussed the materials we use in our economy. The picture of the crocodile, the coffee beans, and the cream colored beads all represent our means of economy. Under environment, we included the four layers of our tropical rainforest: emergent, canopy, understory, and the forest floor. There is a bright picture of the many fruits that our culture produces that are used to feed us as well as other cultures surrounding us. These foods include bananas, tangerines, mangos, and many others. Animals in our environment include monkeys, gibbons, sloths, frogs, insects, gorillas, tropical birds, and river animals. There are pictures that show the different fruits and animals in a collage on our poster. We have pinpointed where are culture is on our world simulation map.

Our culture provides many resources for other surrounding cultures, such as medicine, food, and trees as building materials. Our poster portrays that our society is more naturalistic than materialistic culture. Since we have many natural resources and we are a peaceful group of people, we could be easily conquered. Our poster displays our information that may make other cultures want to take over our land due to our abundant resources.
