Nathan Harstine's Koobecaf
As I was trying to understand the sreganeet, I came upon a very popular activity. It seemed to me that nearly all hours of the day, the sreganeet would be involved with Koobecaf. Even though the sreganeet would be asked to do chores around their house, Koobecaf was always stopping them from getting the chores done. This was the same way with every house I studied. The more I studied the sreganeet, the more I realized how much Koobecaf affected their lives. The sreganeet would be of all ages, from thirteen to twenty-five or older. It seemed that sreganeet from the age of sixteen to nineteen were most affected by it, to the point I believe that some were addicted to it. Because they would not leave their chairs and were staring at their screens all day long I do believe the sreganeet depend too much on Koobecaf.
When I asked the sreganeet why they would stare at their screens for so long the main reason I heard was because all of their friends were also on Koobecaf, so the only way to talk to them was through Koobecaf. Often the sreganeet would type messages on their friends' walls and their friends would reply back a minute later. It was not uncommon to watch one sreganeet correspond with four or five others at the same time. When this would happen, they often would write each other using a daerth because then all five friends could talk with each other rather than individually. It is quite interesting to watch the sreganeet as they communicate on Koobecaf because they are quite silent at times. They have no need to talk out loud and so some do not. They only use their words through Koobecaf to talk to one another. This did cause confusion during one conversation I witnessed. Because there are not many emotions displayed through Koobecaf, words are sometimes taken in ways they are not meant too. Eventually, the confused friends were able to understand what each other meant. While I was studying one sreganeet she started to look at some sotohp of one of her friends who had been to the beach. It seemed as though there were fifty of the sotohp and she looked at each one of them individually. Many of the sotohp looked very similar, with the same three girls on the beach, so it seemed a waste of time to me to look at all fifty of the sotohp when they were not very different at all.
During my evaluation of the sreganeet I came to the realization that something about communicating with so many people is what makes Koobecaf so popular with the sreganeet. Of course, they are not communicating in person but they are communicating in their own way, through Koobecaf. Although communicating in this way is different than talking to one another in person, it seems to be very popular with the sreganeet.
