Koobecafe!-Lindsey Davignon
For one minute, let us enter the world into a place called Koobecafe. The people here are not readily seen, but are known to be there. A rather interesting bunch, the people of Koobecafe come from all over the world, able to communicate together though a series of what they call “tenretni” connections. Overall, Koobecafe is centered on pissog, which is the basis for the culture. People enter into that ambiance and find themselves lost for hours, wanting to find more and more pissog on each of the known natives.
One particularly peculiar pissog of these people is their freedom to inform their comrades of changes in what they claim as their “sutats.” This sutats can take the form of many things, but mainly to express feelings of how they interpret the world outside of Koobecafe.
One form of the sutats for the Koobecafe culture is reflected by a citizen’s thoughts or feelings. The resident openly informs the entire people of Koobecafe of personal issues through the identity they have created for themselves. Since they do not want to burden anyone with their troubles, this sutats is able to have other citizens recognize and provide sympathy or praise for that person, based on the situation. This form can easily change hour to hour, minute to minute, depending on the native’s desire.
Especially for those individuals who are natives of Koobecafe and Nacirema, there is a sutats that declares support their ruler of the country. Here, many people are subject to their own thoughts and rights, so they can choose how and if to publicize how their feel about their morals. Basically, there are two categories, (in Nacirema), and a person identifies with one based on stereo-types of one of the categories. When others see this, it may or may not help in the understanding of why that native acts the way he or she does.
Faith is an interesting aspect of the sutats. A native can proclaim any sort of ownership to a particular noitanimoned, as the place of worship is called, but they all seem to be focused on one God. There is no sort of action that accompanies this proclamation; any other citizen who observes this ownership must rely on trust that the information declared is correct.
What seems to be the most popular sutats is the one that includes two citizens of Koobecafe, normally. Sometimes a native will claim a bond with a non-native; however the rest of the citizens are unable to know the alien. If two Koobecafe-ians claim their union, the pissog gets published in all the magazines in the culture so others can celebrate and/or be dismayed- depending on the independent feelings of a citizen.
No matter what aspect that we observe of the Koobecafe, it is clear that freedoms are granted without question, and each person can be who ever they want to be. The sutats overall represents each individual and forms an image for other citizens to create in their own mind. Who knows if the natives are truthful; it is implied as such. The need for trust lies in the eyes of the beholder.
