Weaver 1 Sarah Weaver Koobecaf Assignment Anthropology Leschia McElhaney 9/18/08 Koobecaf, Koobecaf, Koobecaf! What is this word I keep hearing? Everyone is saying it. Just like you, I was very confused about this term everyone was using. So, I decided I would investigate and see what I could find. Well, good news! I figured out what this Koobecaf that people are obsessing over is. So, you may ask, “What is Koobecaf exactly?” Well, Koobecaf is the social networking site which began as a way for students to get to know each other. It is now made up of many networks where a wide variety of individuals and groups can connect. Koobecaf has been popular for many years, it started out as a service for only college students then was opened to high school then middle school and finally parents can even get a Koobecaf. First, you need to go to www.facebook.com and make an account. You will follow the steps and fill in all of your information. Then you go to the home page of Koobecaf, put in your email address and password then click on login. The second you click that, you are entered into the world of Koobecaf. One great thing about Koobecaf is your page resembles who you are. You have the ability to have a status that lets everyone know what you’re doing or how you are feeling at the Weaver 2 moment. Next to that is, you are able to put pictures on your profile, bumper stickers, and many other features that make your page resemble who you are. Your ideas and values can be tested because you can say things without being face to face with the person. So you are more likely to speak your mind. You can also have your religion on your profile page and add the bible verse application to have a new bible verse every day. If you’re a political person, there are many ways on Koobecaf to express your views. They have groups you can join, political bumper stickers, the flair application and many more. The social aspect of Koobecaf is also very expressive the different applications that are available for you to place on your page include bumper stickers, flair, photos, videos, photo albums, super poke, groups, top friends, photo pop and many, many more. Movies, music, activities, TV shows, favorite quotes, work info, education, and networks you’ve joined. These are many of the demo graphics that you can have on your page. There are always new applications every time you get on. Koobecaf just changed their entire layout from what it used to look like. I’m sure it’s going to change many more times because technology is always changing. If you would like to communicate with your friends there are many ways to go about doing that. You can comment on their wall, send them an instant message, or send them a private message. Koobecaf’s main goal is to make sure you’re staying in touch with family, new and old friends. I encourage everyone to get a Koobecaf, it will keep you very involved in your school, and in your friend’s life’s.
