Koobecaf by Matt OswaltThis is a featured page

In the American culture people have been brought together by an internet website known as Koobecaf. Once Koobecaf hit the internet, it spread into a popular muse. What started off as a website exclusively for college students, turned into a hot spot for people of every age. Not only has Koobecaf spread through middle schools but it even has middle age adults joining. This site truly extends the meaning of identity, communication, and friendship.

What makes Koobecaf’s superstructure so interesting is that people are able to be whoever they want to be. If a person is only sixteen years of age, they can easily change it so they are twenty. This is particularly bad for the simple fact that an older male or female could easily be misled into an illegal relationship. Koobecaf also allows individuals to create an image for themselves. If a teenager has really bad acne, they can retouch their picture and add it as their display picture. This is extremely fascinating when a guy is expecting to go on a date with a flawless looking girl and arrives to the date and can’t find her anywhere. When his date approaches him, he realizes that the girl he agreed to go on the date with doesn’t exist.

On Koobecaf people can browse anyone’s site as long as they’re in the same network. This superstructure can lead to things such as a K-State student seeing someone walking on campus that appeals to them and then going home and searching for that person. The site helps individuals know all about the person they are admiring before they have even talked to them. The admirer can find out their relationship status, interests, and even who their friends are. The profile that a person creates, however, can be somewhat deceiving. The admirer may think that the person they have taken notice in is single, but the following day sees that person holding hands with someone. Profiles may only tell people half of the truth.

The social aspect of Koobecaf was originally the whole purpose of the site. People were able to connect and communicate with their friends. However, the social structure has changed drastically. Over time people stopped calling and emailing their friends as much. Whenever a person wants to communicate with their friends, they either write on their wall or send a short message. This has caused America to start communicating in an insincere way. Also members of Koobecaf often accept friend requests of people they don’t even know. Accepting these friend requests allows one to instantly and effortlessly become friends with someone. Now people don’t even have to try and meet someone in the outside world because Koobecaf does all the work for them.

Through the well-known internet site, Koobecaf, individuals have created a whole new world. A variety of people have joined and created a wonderful image for themselves. This website has made life much easier when it comes to communicating and meeting people. Even though this new world enhances our ability to connect with our friends, it has created an insincere way of life. Overtime America may become an anti-social society, at least when face-to-face that is.
