Koobecaf and AmericaThis is a featured page

Everyday people across the world are in contact with each other. They are in contact through television, cell phones, video chat, and the Internet. All of these means of communication are valued in our American culture and make up most of the social structure in the United States. Recently, I stumbled upon a new culture that has taken the United States by storm. This culture calls itself the Koobecaf. Its people can chat, send messages, “poke”, “super poke”, add pictures, and many other things all via the Internet. Some of the habitants of this indigenous tribe may know how old someone is, where they live, who their friends are, and be friends with them having never met them. The up rise of this culture has brought up several questions. One of the major questions is what will the effect of the Koobecaf be on American culture?
I went deep into the Koobecaf society to further understand what values its people have, how it has progressed in the time it has been around, and how it is organized. In my studies I found several unique characteristics about all the Koobecaf people. One characteristic I found was that they allow all their personal information to be viewed by the pubic. In what the Koobecaffienes call their profile they tell people where they live, what school they go to, when they are born, and small things such as favorite movies and books. American culture values privacy and keeping things personal. Joining the Koobecaf society would take away from your privacy and therefore would take away from your American culture.
Also, in a Koobecaffiene profile they had things called applications. The applications were small programs that they added to give their profile personality. The applications included food friendzy, jetman, bumper sticker, and graffiti to name a few. The application that I found most intriguing was the graffiti application. In your friend’s graffiti window you can draw a picture for them to view next time they log on to Koobecaf. This is a recently new application added to Koobecaf showing that the infrastructure of this society is progressing. The Koobecaf creates more and more applications every month.
The social structure of Koobecaf society is broken down into different groups based on what region in the world the Koobecaffiene lives in. Some groups are a specific college or high school, while other groups are as broad as a whole city. Finding people in a certain group is relatively easy. You simply have to type in the group name in the search and it will give you all the members of that group. This makes it simple for people find long lost friends that they wish to get back into contact with. The Koobecaf society has helped reunite millions of people.
Through my finding I was able to better understand what impact the Koobecaf society would have on American culture. Koobecaf has become a part of American culture and has every aspect of it. It has become a value to all Americans, shown how technology in the U.S. has grown, and has help increase communication. Koobecaf has added means of communication through walls, graffiti, and profiles. It has shown how the technology in American culture has grown. Also, it has made American culture more open and not as private. Through Koobecaf you can know what your friends did last weekend without even talking to them. Koobecaf society is one of “creeping” on profiles and knowing things you might not need to know. It has shaped American society and how people communicate.
