The Nacirema culture has developed over its history to keep up with the new age culture. They have seen different elements improve, from clothing, food, medicines, and transportation. In Nacirema, there has been a lot of improvement in communication. Over the last few years one of the biggest new ideas and things to be a part of is Koobecaf. It seems that now of days every one is a part of this social network called Koobecaf. Nacirema’s see this as their social life, and if you don’t have one then you are viewed week. Koobecaf started as a small social online network for the students of Harvard University. It speared soon to in compass all of the Ivy league. After a little bit of time it soon took members from any university. It now has even allowed high school students, family, or anyone above the age of 13. This has made many new differences in the Nacirema culture. One of the most visible is they way one can now express themselves. Sometimes people can be shy, and not talk, nor share anything about their lives. Now though on Koobecaf, they share everything, from their favorite movies, to their pictures, to even who their friends are. It is easier for someone to talk to a person when they are not talking face to face, and this lets them express anything they want to, without being nervous. Nacirema has asked more of Koobecaf, and it has brought more to them. Now the can share what music they like and are able to listen to it online. They can give and receive bling, send bumper stickers, and have top friends. One of the biggest concerns, with being allowed to share so many things on their profiles, is the fact that anyone can see it. Anyone that has a Koobecaf, can get online and “stock” someone. They can find many new things out about a person, and can get their phone number or see all their pictures. The Nacirema’s are always talking about it not being safe enough. Through what I have seen, the safety is under the control of that person. They can choose who can see what information, and can hide it, if they do not want certain people to look at it. People’s profiles, play a big part in their factor of their lifestyles. Some of the Nacirema culture depends on the amount people they have as friends, or about how some live their lives, and what social class, or race they are. Koobecaf has made some Nacirema’s mad, because of the new look that Koobecaf has. It has started to do more new things, with the change in culture, and the change in how Nacirema’s view different ideas. The new Koobecaf, changes what the infrastructure was on facebook, and now takes this to a completely new level. They have developed something, which is new and exciting, and works hand in hand with the changing Nacirema culture, and goes along with the mainstream now.
