Koobecaf: Seen from the Outside by Royal Explorer Justin RidgewayThis is a featured page

Upon visiting the Koobecaf, the size of this community is tremendous and unbelievable. Whole tribes are set up around the landscape, each a mixture of every flavor that one can sample. Upon picking a tribal village to visit, the tribe members are not always the same. Some seem to be adopted by the majority of the tribe and welcomed in with open arms. Symbols are shown everywhere as hundreds of messenger pigeons fly over head, dropping packages to those that are receiving. One tribe member gets a small letter and stands off from the rest of the tribe. A private message has been delivered.
The tribe member, named “Nagem”, has received a message from their personal mate. They have been together for over long a period of time but have not forged the final link. Nagem is reading a message that has crosses a large amount of landscape in a short period of time. Nagem says that their personal mate is far from her at the moment until the next day. The message is a way which Nagem is able to talk even though boundaries separate them from each other. Many of the tribe members send such messages to each tribe members and others that are not directly within the tribal village. This changes the interactions of every member of the tribe. These messenger birds allow members to interact with each other without having to walk up to one another.
Notice how each member of this particular tribe interacts with each other. When interacting face to face, each member seems to be hiding something that they want to say about another member of the group. When the “victim” of such communications between members is out of listening range, the other members verbally attack them. They run the risk of being overheard by the “victim”. Another tribe member can see the body language of one speaking and see what they are actually feeling. Members can also hear how the spoken language is sounding instead of trying to figure the meaning behind hand gestures or words.
With messenger birds, they are able to conceal what the body of the message holds, whether it’s scandalous or about how another member is acting. The other up side to such a delivery service is that such a message can not be intercepted and is hidden from prying eyes. This is also true to the members sending and receiving for they are able to hide the tone of their language and body movements without risking the content of their messages. It is amazing how each member of this tribe can get along so well in person, but when the chance is given, speaking badly about each other in either open forum or with the messenger bird. A form of gossip is born and can build tension within the tribe.
There seems to be some personalization of the village by members of the tribe. Particularly are some of the strange items members have placed on their own dwellings. One can only being to imagine what these could be used for. Upon closer examination and watching the members interact with the strange items leads to the conclusion that such items are not only for show but can be interacted with as well. Observing one such item, members have a boundless array of items that never seems to deplete. When asked about this occurrence, members say that the items are used by all and some have great heaps from which to choose. Closer exanimation has led that some kind of prank is being played on each member at different times. A couple of the items can be thrown at other members and vice versa. Cow has never tasted quite so good after being thrown through a house. There are also vices within this device that are not demeaning in any way. In fact, some of the actions performed by members is of compassion and love.
This has led to the conclusion that such a device or item is used to entertain the tribe when their daily lives seem to get dull. The same applies to other items on their houses as well. In a sense, these devices let the tribe continue to interact with each other even if there is no actual communication going on between the members. There is no harm done to members house as it the receiving place for a member. The appearance is one where outside societies would frown upon such behavior if it happened to members of their societies. In this community of many members, it is encouraged to engage in such play. Will this interaction ever spread beyond the borders of this hidden community, where the number of members is well beyond the measuring at the moment? Only societies on the outside and time will tell.
