Joe Hagan Koobecaf Leschia 2:30 Thursday September 19, 2008 Koobecaf In the widely known culture of the Nacirema there is a subculture called the Koobecaf. The Koobecaf is a digital society which can be described as social persons that are connected to the people around them. They can be connected to people that are thousands of miles away via their retupmoc. Through their retupmoc the Koobecaf can instantly tahc with people and find out what other people are doing or feeling through their sutats. Their sutats can be changed every minute, hour or whenever the individual pleases. They pride themselves on how many people they communicate and are connected to. The Koobecaf have influenced the Nacirema because of their openness in society. The Koobecaf have no problem openly telling everyone who they are dating or what their ofni is. The ofni can include: where they are born, where they go to school, age, what books and movies they like, activities and how to communicate with them even more. This openness has let the Koobecaf society come closer together and better understand the people inside it. They let others know what events they plan on attending and what other social groups they may be in. They have a eliforp that informs people as to what their recent activites have been. These activities can range from whether they have found a new friend or to if they have added new added new noitacilppas or hpargotohps. This candid approach has let the Koobecaf become a closer knit community than most others. The social organization of the Koobecaf divides you into what krowten they are in. They can be in a school krowten or a local community krowten. They can communicate with people from other krowtens but for the most part they seem to communicate the most within their own krowten. Inside the krowten the individuals can pick their favorite members of koobecaf by using the pot sdneirf application. This lets others know who they mostly interact with and can relate to. The Koobecaf can switch to another krowten if they move to a new location or if they are attending a new school. The Koobecafs believe if they have more friends than they are more popular in their society. The Koobecaf may send out an invitation to be a friend with someone they just met or may have never met before. Some of these friends they may never talk to but they still consider them friends. The Koobecaf works well within the Nacirema because the Nacirema values individualism which creates a lonely feeling. Then the Koobecaf comes in and you can be all alone but connected and interacting with people all at the same time. The people in Koobecaf feel like they are apart of a big social get together whenever they get on their retupmoc. Some may spend many hours out of their day just looking at other individuals eliforps. This gives them a sense of belonging and lets them feel as if they know these people very well even if they rarely interact with them in real life.
