Koobecaf Arthur Thomas It appears that Facebook is the sweeping young people, middle age, and elders alike. Facebook was created just some 4 years ago and now the most popular community site to visit. This interconnected community has changed the way people communicate with each other! The belief that facebook is so popular, may be the fact that anyone anywhere can communicate with anyone anywhere, anytime! This site can be accessed through the internet via computer. As I begun to look closer at this community I could tell that there were groups that separated them. These groups seemed to characterize the members through location, friends, networks. Many members seem to join many groups to communicate with new members and make friends or input there opinion in message. They use an electronic board that allows them to write there message fully out and either send or view before sending. The members post pictures, stories, and notes so that other members can view and gain knowledge of them. These members are very outgoing and seem to have strong desire for connection. That fact is that facebook is helping American culture stay close, that is to loved ones and friends. Without facebook there would be a gap where nothing would able to replace since these members have come to fond with this interconnecting system. The barrel model fits perfectly. The Superstructure allowing members to put anything on there display page. Lets them create an identity which is unique and of there choice. The Social Structure involving all of there friends far and near. Last being the Infrastructure dealing with the technology. Each member exceptionally smart dealing with the computer and internet. Accessing and keeping track of messages. Facebook is a necessity to all its members, some checking every 5 minutes, others for work or more private matters. Facebook is an exceptional tool that has become very popular and will remain with this culture.
